We went to Farmington for the weekend (well we left Saturday afternoon and came back Sunday late afternoon), it was so nice to get away for a little bit. We did a little shopping or I should say Andy did a little shopping, I know completely backwards. He needed some new boots and was able to finally find some that he liked. We went to Hobby Lobby and I am pretty sure this is the first time in my life I have gone there and not bought anything haha, but Andy did, he got some vinyl to recover the 4 wheeler and tractor seats. He bought a plainer from Home depot for some of the wood we have that we want to use for trim on the inside if the house ( base boards, crown molding and framing out the doors) I also want him to make a barn door for the pantry and the bathroom doors.

I did find these, and I am pretty sure I need these in my life HaHa .They were not cheap, going to have to save a lot of pennies to get these.

We stopped by Aztec Ruins on the way home it has been 20 plus years since I had been and Andy hasn’t ever been. I had forgotten just how cool they are. I am going to do a whole post on it in a few days.

We got home and one of the heifers had had a calf (didn’t think she was anywhere ready to calve) she had it in one of the worse places she could of picked, pretty much in a mud puddle (not that it isn’t muddy everywhere) it looked like she had had a hard time and the calf hadn’t stood up yet. So we fixed a bottle of colostrum and fed him, he keep trying to stand but it just wasn’t happening. The wind was pretty cold and he was shivering pretty good so we loaded him up on the 4 wheeler and took him to the barn. Of course being a heifer and her first calf she wasn’t all that interested so after we got the calf to the barn we had to go chase her down to get her to come in also. He was standing a little this morning so he will hopefully be ok will keep them in the barn for a few days though.

My Baking with Natural yeast book just came in, I have just glanced through it can’t wait to really read it. Will let you know what I think as soon as I do.

300 a month

Joleen came by the house Saturday morning while I was getting ready to run to town so she took me in and I ran by the bank and City Market she was in a bit of a hurry so I had to hurry and get what I needed which is good, didn’t have time to look around and decide I need more things haha. All I got was some spinach leaves, yogurt, and mushrooms. I only spent 8.37 may need Joleen to take me to town more often lol.

That is a great start for the month. So 8.37 for the month. Add that to the 493.93 for the year for a total of 502.30 for the year. That leaves me with 291.63 for the month and 3097.70for the year.

Really enjoying your blog, I’m a farmers daughter. Cows always got out or calved when my parents went out. Hope the calf is fine. When I get home I’m going to give myself a stricter budget do you get the cash out of the bank and not spend anything else or do you use a cheque or card and then add it up as you go along. May I ask what is Honey Lemon? I’m curious. I make up a batch of stewed lemons which I add honey to when we have colds.

      Julie,
Thank You, I know what you mean about the cows getting out that is almost an always lol. Can’t count how many times we have tried to go somewhere to have to come back early to put cows back in. I normally use cash or a check I also have to get stuff for the day care and if I use a check it is easier for me to keep track of. If I am just getting stuff for the house then I try to use cash. I will be doing a post on the lemons in a couple days.
      Have a great day
