Are you prepared for what might be coming?

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

โ€œA prudent person foresees the danger ahead and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.

Proverbs 27:12

I donโ€™t know how many of you are keeping up with all the things that are going on in the world right now (and there are a lot). We are on the edge of two major wars, the economy is barely being held up, just to name a couple. Regardless what the main stream media tells you things are not good.

There are so many issues and ifย just one of them happens itย is going have a devastating effect on all of us. After we fired the 52 missiles on Syria, Russia and Iran said they will respond to further American military actions. In a joint statement, the command center for the two countries and allied groups said โ€œwe will respond to any aggressionโ€. (Our government is talking about putting 150,000 boots on the ground) this will result in war. And keep in mind, while we have been downsizing our military Russia has been building theirs up.

Then we have North Korea, they hate America and will use any provocation to strike at us, and they do have the means to do some serious harm. (An aircraft carrier strike group led by the USS Carl Vinson was diverted from its original destination and they are now ย heading towardย the Korean peninsula.) Also China has amassed 150,000 troops on the North Korean Border.

And if that isnโ€™t enough the dollar is practically on life support according to the Wealth Research Group as you can see in this Video. Our government is practically broke and we have so much debt (over 20 trillion). A war would more than likely be the straw that broke the camels back. If any of this happens it is going to have a devastating effect on the stock market, I have seen projections of at least a 50 % fall if not more ( I know it is at all-time highs, but what goes up must come down).

Then add the fact that Russia and China are trying to do away with the dollar as the worlds reserve currency (they are already making deals with other countries to use different currencyโ€™s) if this happen our dollar could lose a lot of value overnight.

We have had it pretty easy for several years now. If something major like any of this happens, it is going to be utterly devastating. Aย depression all over again, only I think 10 times worse than the last. During the last great depression most people could raise their own food, and could make do with what they had. How many people can, have the means, or knowledge now days? And not to mention we are a throw away country, if it is broken or we donโ€™t like it we get rid of it instead of fixing and reusing.

How prepared are you for something like this? Do you have food and water put back? Do you have the skills necessary to manage on your own? Our grocery stores are on a just in time delivery system which means they only have a three day supply of food(if even that much). If there is a disruption of any kind we will have no food being delivered.

Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1Timothy 5:8

We see the warning signs, we are being given a chance to get prepared for what is coming (Itโ€™s not too late to start). I know a lot of people reading this are going to think this is a little lot crazy and that we are America, this kind of stuff doesnโ€™t happen here. Pretty sure the people before the great depression didnโ€™t think that it could happen either. I for one donโ€™t want to have to set back and watch my family suffer, knowing I could have done something to prevent it.

My Grandmother and Dad talk about Ration cards during the war and depression, and that was when we produced most all of our own food and goods. Today a huge portion of food and goods are all imported. What happens if we do have a major war, will we still be able to get these imports? What if N.K. sends an EMP we will have very limited access to food, goods, and services. If the markets have a major crash how many will lose jobs, how many cities, states and towns, will go bankrupt ( it is already happening and the markets are at all-time highs). Or some other major event be it manmade or natural.

Please think about getting prepared at least a little, put back some food, water, medical supplies, learn a few new skills or at least get some how to books.

And most of all pray that none of this comes to pass, but please please get at least a little prepared for if it does. If for nothing else for the sake of your family. Remember even if nothing happens you have some extra food to eat. You have health, car, and home insurance, why not food insurance?

If you donโ€™t know where to start I have a deep Pantry challenge that can help get you started. Or there are several websites dedicated to preparedness so even if you donโ€™t use my guide find one somewhere and start, we may be running out of time.

You never know when today may be the day before. ( and for the life of me I canโ€™t remember who sayโ€™s this).

If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

I agree with you. I am in Australia and my friend sent me your article. We can see th writing on the wall although the media do their best to distract.
Two years ago I felt very prompted to start building up my pantry. I blog and on Mondays I have a preparedness series. Currently I am trying to urge people to be watchful. Being watchful is a big thing as it gives you the heads up and bonus time!
Now I am starting on your series and loving it! It is really wonderful to find someone else thinking along the same lines.
Each day this whole series of events has escalated. Yesterday a man said to me how his wife’s parents came out from Germany before WW2 and his wife remembers everything. She said to him this is just how things were at the start of the war, everyday there was a major development. Pretty much everyone I know now thinks this…
We can hope for the best but it is time for some action, its just being prudent.
Many thanks, Annabel. My blog is The Bluebirds are Nesting.

      Annabel,
Thank you for stopping by and thank your friend for sharing my post. Like you said it is so good to find others who think this way. I try and tell people but so many don’t want to listen they believe everything main stream media tells them so they think every thing is. I have heard a couple people say that things are happening just like they did in Germany before the war. And like you say being watchful is so important because it will give a little more time to do what needs to be done before it gets completely out of hand. I look forward to checking out your blog
      Have a great day,
      Connie

I’m not sure the world will end anytime soon but it’s interesting to read other people’s point of views and I do think media coverage in different countries is very different indeed. I grow a lot of my own food and have a natural water source. Our kids are growing up in a scary world although maybe it’s just that we know more now than we did years ago. #alittlebitofeverything

Good information…. I am surprised by the amount of people who have enough food/water for a couple of days and no more…. I have reminded some people how we went without power for 3 days from a storm… or without water or whatever. Snowstorms, thunderstorms can leave us vulnerable… and that is just the weather. Some people have started to keep more water and food for short term use…. I know years ago, people would can fruits and vegetables for the whole next year, from their own gardens…. Thank you for your post.

      Gentle Joy Homemaker,
It is surprising how many people just don’t see any need to have some food and water put back, you never know what could happen. Like you said weather, and just so many other things that could happen in the blink of an eye.
      Have a great day,
      Connie

Even though we live inside city limits, we have rabbits, chickens and a vegetable garden. You are right about most people having limited gardening skills. Thank you for sharing at Tuesdays with a Twist! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures

We do have some reserves, not as many as I would like since we moved to a home with no pantry and well, no real storage areas.. so we have had to create some in creative ways. I have enjoyed reading your tips as you have linked them up to #TuneInThursday – looking forward to more this week. Thanks

I’m so glad you “went there” and shared what most of us are already thinking. A few weeks back I started a stock pile in the basement (including water, batteries and first aid items). I will also do more gardening this year. Our family also knows how to hunt and fish, so that is comforting. Thanks for your honest views and info on this BIG situation in life right now.

      Rebecca,
Thank you, I am so glad you are getting things set back, I really hope nothing happens but there are so many things happening right now and one little spark is going to bring it all down. It really concerns me that there are so many people who are not seeing the things that are going on, on the world stage and here at home. And when it starts falling it is going to be very ugly I think. I am working extra hard at being as self sufficient as we can ( bigger garden , more chickens, and I am working on getting a milk goat to name a few ). Keep stocking up while we have time ๐Ÿ™‚
      Have a great day,
      Connie
