300 a Month, Goals, & Menu

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Was a pretty busy week-end. As I had mentioned before my Uncle had a massive heart attack, so I took Friday off so I could run up and see him. We spent most of the day there. He is doing a little better now. It is kind of a wait and see at this point. (Prayers appreciated).

Saturday I had to run in to town to do a couple errands and pick up a few things we needed. When I got back I worked on the house and taxes. I am finally all done with taxes woo hoo got ours and the Joleen and Katie’s done. Now maybe I can get on to better things. I will say as I say most every year not going to wait so long till I start next year. (Hoping to keep up on my bookwork a little better this year). That evening we had a small cookout for Travis’s BD. Cooked Hamburgers on the grill with some homemade fries, and sautéed onions with mushrooms.

Easter we had no kids at home (first time ever) and my Parents were out of town and we couldn’t go to Andy’s Moms, so we went and had lunch then went for a drive up to the mountains, well as far as we could before we ran into snow. It was nice to get out for a bit. We saw several Elk which was pretty cool.

We got several more plant starts transplanted now I need to get some more seeds started.

300 a month

I didn’t do too badly this week, although any spent isn’t good since I am already over my monthly limit.

I needed some cottage cheese, an onion, lettuce, fresh green beans, cucumbers, quinoa, yogurt, carrots, turkey lunch meat, and tea.

I spent 24.51 add this to 434.02 for a total of 458.53 for the month. (hope next month is better).

Add this to 910.98 for the year 910.98 + 24.51 for a total of 935.49 spent for the year. Leaves me with nothing left for the month and 2664.51 left for the year.

I have got to start making my own dairy products again even if I have to use store bought milk and I need my garden to get doable.

Goals

Well taxes are finally done, so I can start working on other things. The weather has been pretty good a little wind but defiantly nice enough to get stuff done out side.

Kitchen

I got my natural yeast stated, some sour dough starter started, kombuchia started, red wine vinegar started, and wheat ground this past week.

This week I want to get my water kefir started, bake some bread and cinnamon rolls, I also need to start getting the rest of the potatoes put up, I want to can some chicken potato soup, green chili potato soup, and some beef vegetable soup, I have a turkey in the freezer I need to get cooked up. I will use that in the chicken soup, If I have time I would like to freeze some french fries also.

Sewing table

I would like to work on Katie and Joleens quilts, Both their birthdays are in June and I would like to have them done by then. I also need to start mending some of Andy’s pants but don’t know if I will get that far.

Fiber basket

Want to work on Joleen and Katie’s afghans would also like to have these done in time for their Birthdays.

I talked to a friend of mine who has sheep and I think I am going to be able to get their wool when they shear, he said it should be about 100 pounds, looking forward to that.

I bought Andy some underwear and t-shirts that were white, he likes colored so I have some dye that I will dye them with. ( white is almost 5 dollars cheaper than the colored).

Yard

I got the fire pit area cleaned it does need to be tilled if possible, some of the back patio cleaned up, the troll garden put together, the wheel barrel fairy garden put together, and started on the large fairy garden.

I want to finish the large fairy garden, and start on the flower bed next to the back walk ( I need to lay a ground cover and lay mulch them put flower pots in the ground for flowers, we have so many weeds ), finish the back patio area, and get the trees planted ( I know, I still haven’t got them planted).
