300 a Month, Goals, Menu,

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Where does the time go? I never seem to be able to get everything done that I need and want to get done.

This past weekend was the Durango Blue Grass Melt down so Andy went Friday and Saturday evenings. I stayed home had a whole list of things I was going to get done but ended up reading and watching a movie,( I wonder why I didn’t get anything done this week haha) I have to admit it was kind of nice to just kick back and not do anything those two evenings.

Saturday before Andy left we went to the gun show they were having here in town. After that I went into town and got my errands ran.

Sunday we branded, we only did half of them so we will do the others this coming weekend or the next. That took pretty much all day. ( These are pictures from my Brothers branding they are way cooler than ours, they use horses and do it the old fashioned way, we use four wheelers and use a branding shoot)

300 a Month,

All I needed to get was some cabbage, egg roll wraps, mushrooms, bananas, lunch meat (need to get my turkey cooked), Yogurt, ketchup and (one of those things I hate to admit that I did) I bought a Mexican food frozen dinner ( I really wanted Mexican food and didn’t want to cook while Andy was gone) well it was one of the nastiest things I have ever eaten only ate about a quarter of it.

I spent 27.90 add this to 458.53 for a total of 486.43 for the month. (Hope next month is better).

Add this to 935.49 for the year 935.49 + 27.90 for a total of 963.35 spent for the year. Leaves me with nothing left for the month and 2636.65 left for the year.

I have got to start making my own dairy products again even if I have to use store bought milk and I need my garden to get doable

Goals

As I mentioned before I didn’t get a whole lot done this week. L

Kitchen,

I did get my water Kefir started. I messed up my natural yeast so I need to restart that. I have been doing real good about grinding wheat for all my flour needs. We didn’t get the potatoes out of our makeshift cellar so I wasn’t able to get any potatoes put up. I have been making bread at least once a week if not twice.

So hoping this week to get potatoes worked up in soups and some in the freezer. I want to get a ham cooked that I have in the freezer.

Sewing table,

Didn’t get anything worked on this week but I did get my table cleaned off and ready for the sewing machine (I had it full of tax stuff). I was going to try and get the girls quilts done by their Birthdays, but I think now I am going to concentrate on their afghans, and if I can work on the quilts I will. I have a couple things I want to work on but I will share it a little later .
Fiber Basket

I have been working on Katie’s afghan haven’t got as far as I would like but plan on doubling up on it.

Yard,

Did get the trees planted and several moved to different spots. Got a little more done on the large fairy garden.

Hoping to get the large fairy garden finished, and start on the flower bed next to the back walk ( I need to lay a ground cover and lay mulch them put flower pots in the ground for flowers, we have so many weeds ), finish the back patio area. I hope the weather warms up a little has been a little ugly and may be getting snow Friday, Ugh.

You mentioned getting potatoes put in the freezer. How do you freeze them? Already cooked? Raw? I’m curious because I’ve found that potatoes can be tricky to freeze.

      Shannon,
I make mash potatoes then put them in the freezer, I make FF by half way cooking them them laying them on a tray to freeze. When I get ready to do them I will do a post on it.
