300 a Month, Goals & Menu

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The weather has been so yucky and windy so I haven’t been able to get much done outside. I really want to get out and get started on things, I have so much to do.

I did get outside to pick a few dandelions, I had the kids help. I did wait to long most of them are gone so I only got  a few. The kids had fun picking them though.

Seems like I have spent all week just trying to get things caught up again.

Sunday evening we went to my Mom & Dads for Mother’s day. My Brother made pork ribs that were so so good. I put together some flowers for my Mom and my Sister in Laws and my niece, saved some for me and the girls to. I saw these lilies and just had to have them, they are so pretty. I added some other little flowers and a little red bark in a bowl that they will be able to reuse, then I added a small candle.

Since Joleen worked Mother’s day they took me out for dinner last night we went to my favorite Mexican food place.

300 a Month

Did a little better this week, sort of. I bought 64 pounds of strawberries to put in the freezer (city market had a great sale) and some tea. That was all I needed so I spent 93.90 this week.

So add this to the 104.84 for the month for 198.74 spent for the month.

Add this to 1068.19 spent for the year, 1068.19 + 93.90 = 1162.70 spent for the year and this leaves me with 2437.30 left for the year.

Goals

Kitchen

I have been working on getting the strawberries in the freezer, I have been making bread at least once a week now (Andy is so Happy),.

This week I need to finish up the strawberry’s, Cook up a turkey from the  freezer ( I want to use part of it to use in some canned soup), Pour up and start some new kombucha, start some more sour dough starter and natural yeast ( The ones I had started I didn’t get them taken care of like they should of.),

Sewing Table,

I bought another underwear pattern, I have one but it isn’t quite like I wanted. Hoping to get a few made this week. I dyed some of Andy’s dingy white T Shirts to a dark blue, been watching some of the lessons on how to use the serger haven’t got brave enough to try it yet though. I bought a bag of rags the other day (a big bag of  t-shirts) got them washed up and will cut a few rags out of them, I also want to try and make a tank top and a Spaghetti strap out of them.

Fiber Basket

I am almost done with Katie’s afghan I think about 12 more rows, then I will start on Jolene’s. I really want to start on the wool I got a few weeks ago, get it carded and start spinning it.

Yard

With all the wind and rain I haven’t been able to get much done outside. I did get a small portion of the yard mowed still a lot more to mow. Hoping the weather gets a little better I want to finish mowing and I need to reseed part of my lawn. I also want to start on the south side of my house where I need to redo a lot of it,that is where the herbs and grapes are planted, there is also places for raspberries. I have to lay new ground cover the weeds are taking over.

I also need to get some more seeds started.

Hi Connie, setting goals are not easy. When I do, it is one day at a time! As this time I am trying each day to eat better. Diets do not work for me. Seems like I want to eat more when I diet. My husband and I also raise cattle; work in the city during the day and play farmer/rancher in the evenings and weekends. Never a day off. But, my husband is truly happy. That’s what is important! Me too, I am happy. Our kids visit regularly and seeing my grandkids makes me happier. Nice to meet you; will check back often.

      Debra,
Thanks for stopping by. Sounds like we have a lot in common. Totally know what you mean about never a day off lol, Wouldn’t trade one bit of it though.
      Have a great day,
      Connie
