300 a Month, Menu, Goals

Hope everyone had a good Memorial Day, We usually try to go to the cemetery and clean up a couple sites and put out flowers, but Andy’s pick up broke down Saturday so we were all weekend trying to get it fixed in addition to getting set up to start breeding cows (Artificial Insemination) and getting some ground disked and tilled.   It has finally warmed up here so hopefully we can start getting a garden put in.

This little sign pretty much sums up Tuesday evening. Andy started gathering before I got there and had about half of them in the corral, when I got there so I was trying to hold the ones in the corral while he was bringing the others. Well it turned in to a great big wreak.  He got around the corner with the ones he was bringing and they decided they wanted to go to the left, they went through the electric fence we had around the newly planted pasture. They got in there and headed to the bottom, and the ones I was trying to hold decided they needed to join them, two got past me then the others followed. I got on the four wheeler to go help get them gathered up. Well we got them out of the new pasture and they decided to go back to the north field, so we followed to try and get them, some went around the pond, some the other way. Andy went after the ones around the pond I went after the others. Finally we got them all bunched up again and headed towards the corrals well they went the other way back to the newly planted pasture ugh, we got them out of that and headed back to the corrals well this time they all went in except two I went after one, Andy got the other one in the corral and stayed at the gate, I went after the other one which is wilder then anything, so after several minutes of trying to get her, and her heading to the north field I gave up ( we didn’t have to have her).

Don’t you just love the tail on this calf you don’t see that kind of marking all the time, it is brown white and then black on the bottom.

300 a month

This week I needed to get, grapefruits, eggs, pomegranate juice, trash bags, milk, avocado oil, bananas, cherry juice, butter, cream cheese, condensed milk, almond bark (this was on clearance sale so I got 4) mushrooms and cherry tomatoes. I spent 50.36 add that to the months total of 246.20 for 296.56. Thank goodness it is the end of the month.

Add 50.36 to the year’s total of 1210.18 for a total of 1260.54 spent for the year which leaves me 2339.46 for the year.

Goals

Kitchen

I got 7 quarts of plain pinto beans canned, 21 pints and 3 quarts of turkey broth with a little turkey for rice and soups canned. 3 quarts of water canned, 4 no bake cheese cakes and 4 cream pies in the freezer.

I am in the process of canning dog food right now.

This week I want to get the dog food canned, more beans canned, and so chipotle chicken (turkey) taco meat canned.

Sewing table,

I didn’t even get to sit down to the sewing machine this week. So last week’s list will move to this week. This week I want to finish the undies and make a couple more. Joleen brought over a couple pairs of pants that need mended and a pair of her boyfriend’s shorts that need a button, so need to get them done this week.

Fiber Arts,

I worked a little on Katies afghan will try to finish it this week.

Yard

This week I got the back mowed and half of it reseeded, worked on the back patio, and I had to spray my trees for aphids. I hate to have to spray but I have at least three trees that I may lose because of the aphids, they are super bad this year ( hoping I got them sprayed in time), the garden area tilled and some flowers planted. I also put together this plant stand. I had a pipe there to hold up the little fence around the fairy garden. so I thought I would dress it up a little.

Hope to get the front mowed, garden planted, start on the south side where the herbs are planted (it needs to be completely redone), and work on the area where I want to put the raised beds( don’t know if it will be done in time to plant this year but hopefully ready for next year).
