300 a Month, Goals, & Menu.

It has been so stinking hot here, makes it real hard to get out and do anything.

I was so busy getting ready for the Birthday/Father’s Day Parties that I didn’t have time to post last week. So I will combine the last two weeks. I am so hoping things will finally start to slow down just a bit. The party turned out great, of Course I didn’t get any pictures except one. About the time it was getting dark I realized I hadn’t, I was a little upset with myself. We had a dinner, played some games had 5 birthdays, then when the sun started going down it started getting a little chili so we built a fire. It was about 2:00 when the last people left.

I cooked two hams that we had in the freezer and made pulled pork with them. They turned out great wasn’t sure how it would be since I used hams but they were great.Andy was hauling cows the other day and a radiator hose busted. He called me to bring the other pickup so we could hook up the trailer load of cows to it and have the other one towed to the house. First time we have had to use roadside assist in a very long time just really glad we had it.

We got two new puppies (was supposed to only be one) we are needing to find a replacement for our oldest cow dog. And on top of that Katie is moving to town and can’t have a dog so we are going to take hers which is about 10 months old but comes from working parents (cows).

I didn’t do anything for the 4th. I took 3 days off work so I had 5 days altogether it was great.  Andy went to the river for a music festival. It is always so hot down there I decided to stay home and try to get a few things done that I have been needing to get done. I completely cleaned and detailed my pick-up it needed it bad. Got the spare room that I am using as a pantry cleaned and organized. And the house cleaned. Didn’t get everything on my list done but a good portion of it.

300 a month,

I had to get a few things for the party, not much since it was a pot luck, I cooked the meat and made the drinks. I bought pop, chips, sherbet, tea, green bananas (to dehydrate), chicken, taco shells, cheese, milk, dish soap, Himalayan pink salt, Hamburger Helper ( I know, shouldn’t even be buying this, but they were on sale and I like to keep a few on hand for nights that are super busy and I haven’t got anything started early)  and cabbage.  I spent 67.46 I know part of this was in July but I am going to go ahead and add it to June just to make life easier. So 67.46 + 251.08 for a total of 318.54 for the month. Add that to the year’s total of 1511.64 + 67.46 for 1579.10 for the year that leaves me 2020.90 left for the year. I almost forgot I bought an Ice cream cake for the party it was 25 dollars L, I will add that into next weeks.

Goals

Kitchen,

I got the pineapples, mangoes, and raspberries in the freezer, made some tepache with the peels and cores of the pineapples, canned 16 quarts of dog food, 5 quarts pinto beans with bacon, 7 quarts plain pinto beans. Dehydrated several pounds of green bananas for banana flour, 6 loaves of banana bread made.

This week I want to get more bananas dehydrated, we have some bacon’s in the freezer from when we butchered a pig that I need to get sliced up, Another jar of kombuchia going, more apple cider vinegar going, I would like to get some more beans canned if I can get to it.

Sewing table,

Once again didn’t even set down to it, have to find some time to get some mending done.

Fiber arts

I didn’t get Katie’s afghan finished, I decided since I didn’t have Joleen’s done that I would just wait and give them to them for Christmas. Would like to finish Katie’s and get started on Joleen’s this week.

Yard

I got everything in the back yard finished that I had wanted to get done except getting the play area finished, I only have a little bit left on that.

This week I want to finish the play area and get started on the front and redo the circle in the driveway which needs so ground cover and new mulch.

Daycare,
