Welcome to Frugal Living on the Ranch

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

If you are coming over from the old blog ” frugal Living on the Watkins Ranch. blog spot.com” I am so glad you came to visit. I moved so I could make the name a little shorter and try to make it a little more user friendly.

If you are new here, Welcome and please take time to look around, hopefully you will find something that will be helpful to you.

My Husband and I live in the four corners area of Colorado. Where we are fortunate to have all four seasons, sometimes all in one day haha. Between the two of us we have 5 children of which the two youngest (19 & 21)who moved out on to their own a couple years ago, so this is the first time in 30 years I haven’t had kids at home, so I am trying to adjust to them being gone, although they are only a few miles away. The other 3 are a little further one in New York and the other two about 40 miles away.

We raise Black Angus cows in addition to farming, working real jobs, and trying to live as frugally as we possibly can.

We are trying to be as self-sufficient as we can in these uncertain times. On my blog I enjoy sharing what few things I know about DIY, scratch cooking, canning, food storage/deep pantry, gardening, sewing, fiber arts, and many other things, and the new things that I am learning, with others in hope to teach them something new or inspire them to look for a more sustainable and frugal lifestyle.

I also run a small daycare from my home where I try to incorporate preschool lessons into our everyday activities. I just recently became a health fitness coach to help others, as I work towards being more healthy and fit myself.

Things that I love and love doing are, Reading (which I never seem to get enough time to do), Cooking from scratch, canning, Sewing, crocheting, blogging, spinning (which I am just learning to do), working in the yard and the garden, helping my husband farm and work cows, riding horses (another thing we don’t seem to get much time to do),four wheeling, hiking, going to the lake, and last but not least spending time with my Family.

I would love for you to follow along. If you like what you read here on the blog, I would really appreciate if you would share with your friends and family.

Just hit the home tab up top and it will take you to the blog. Any comments or questions just let me know. I’d love to hear your feedback.

Have a great day.
