Make Your Own Lemon Pepper.

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

I use a lot of lemon pepper, I think I put it on everything. Love the stuff. I started making my own several years ago and haven’t used store bought since. I do use my own dried lemons that I run thru a coffee mill, you can set it at whatever setting you like I use the fine ground. If you don’t have a coffee mill, a blender or food processer would work. And you could always use a mortar and pestle if you don’t have any of the other things.

If you don’t have any dried lemons, take fresh and slice thin, put on a cookie sheet in the oven on the lowest setting till dried.

By making your own it won’t have any extra additives, it won’t have the anti-caking stuff in it either so sometimes you will have to break it up (I just use a fork).

My dried lemon is a little older so it is a little darker than fresh but still good.

First I grind my lemons.

Put the lemon powder in a small bowl and add the rest of the spices. Mix well.

Pour into a small container, I put mine in a small jar with a parmesan cheese lid.

Thanks for sharing this. I love lemon pepper, too. I make a lot of my own spice/mix concoctions and they are so much better than store bought.

I’ve printed this and hope to try making it.
Do you slice the lemon with the rind on or off?
