Some of the front yard that I have done.

Well, another busy week ugh someday it might slow down. ( Not holding my breath haha).

Monday I worked a little on getting fall stuff set up outside. Then Tuesday evening I had a meeting and it ran pretty late so didn’t get anything done that evening.  Wednesday our fire dept hosted our annual stair climb you can read about it here. Thursday I worked in the yard a little more putting up fall decorations, On Friday as soon as my last kiddos left I ran to town to get what I needed and to go to the bank so I wouldn’t have to go Saturday. Saturday morning we got up early and went to the local honey sale that some local people put on once a year I got  1 case of quarts and 12, 1/2 gallons, I was going to try and make mead last year when we got honey but that didn’t happen so hoping to get some made with it this year. Sunday we worked in the yard and got some more trim put up in the house. Little by little, we are getting trim put up.

We have some friends coming to stay next weekend so I need to get the house ready and the camper cleaned out ( they will stay in the camper since I don’t have a spare room right now). We parked it after Labor day and I haven’t had a chance to get it cleaned out since we got back so will have to get it done.

Andy is playing a dance Saturday night so Friday we are going to have a few more people over and have a predance music jam. I am hoping the weather will corporate so we can do it outside.

Kitchen

My peaches are just now getting ripe so will get them worked up the first part of the week. I got the Blueberries and the peppers in the freezer and a 1/2 gallon of brine pickles going. I will work up the rest of the cucumbers and zucchini and if I have time I will get the onions done this week. One of these days I am going to get my Kombucha made don’t know why it keeps getting put at the bottom of my to-do list especially since I would really like some to drink hopefully this week. I do still need to get the eggs and butter done. Also, need to make bread and get the moke apple pies done.

Sewing

I got my fall pillow covers started and want to finish them up this week. WOuld really like to have them done before the party.

Fiber arts

I was able to work on washcloths a couple of nights this week want to continue working on these.

Fitness

Well, I got two work out in hoping to do a little better this week. One better than last week haha.

Daycare

This is what I had from last week and didn’t get any of it done so I will hopefully get it done this week

I didn’t get lessons put together over the weekend so I want to get them planned and ready this week. I have a few ideas that I want to do with them so we will do that this week. I want to change out the dramatic play area to a beach. I have everything I need just need to get it put together. I didn’t get it changed out last week so will do it this week. I have got to get the lesson plans done. Just been winging it and it is a pain to do it that way.

Extra Business,

Still, need to do this

I looked into getting a cottage foods food handles licenses. I did find out I can take it online so am going to try and do that this week if I have time. After I get it I want to start selling pies, breads, jams, and jellies to make a few extra dollars along with selling soaps.

Darn…. Wish I had known about the Honey Sale….. Ohhh well, maybe next year.

Still fighting the Shingles; so kinda moving a little slower than the norm.

I got 3 gallons of Sauerkraut going in a 5 gallon Ceramic Crock, and need to add some more Cabbage to have enough to Can.

Also did up 3 gallons of Kim-Chi, needs to Rot, aka Ferment, for a good month or more, but will be nice to have

Interestingly enough the Garden is “Finally” starting to produce like crazy, nada most of the summer, than boom, here it goes. Matter of fact the Cabbages are growing so fast they are splitting, and the Maters are doing GREAT finally. Can ya say Salsa?

Got a bunch of Peaches given to me, very ripe, so made 40, yes forty pints of Peach Jam…..

Been hitting the Firewood Pile hard, got a gut feeling it’s going to be a repeat of last year’s winter, Wet/Cold/Snow.

Kombucha, Come on Connie, get-er made, easy and allllll so gooders. I make mine from Sun Tea, a mix of China Black and Indian Green tea, do 2.5 gallons at a time, and bottle about 1/2 of it for later.

Speaking of Mead….. Good Idea, have a gallon of Black Berries coming, so Maybe Mead rather than freezing them.

      NRP,
Sorry, your are still having issues with the shingles hopefully they will go away soon. Also, how is blue doing? Did he get healed up?

I am looking in to see if they are having another sale since they didn’t have as many people this year. If they are I will let you know.
Glad your garden is doing better mine not so much hoping I al least get enough tomatoes to do at least a couple batches of Rotel I still have salsa left but really need more rotel.

Don’t you just love when gifted extra produce? I need to get some peach jam made with some of the peaches I have in the freezer I also want to try a peach/jalapeno jam this year.

I read the farmers almanac is saying a winter like last year again and since it has already snowed in Utha and CA. I think they may be right.

Haha, I know right just get it done. I have 3 large jars( 2 /2 to 3 gallons) I keep thinking I need to do them all at once guess I just need to do one at a time as I have time and just get them done.

Thinking blackberries would make some really good mead.

Have a great day and hope you get to feeling better soon.
      Connie
